Sable's Boyer Birthday!

Sable loved being at Boyer Children's Clinic, almost as much as Joel and I loved the support from all the staff, parents and people associated with the school. Watching Sable learn and make progress was very calming and inspiring to us. Her teachers and therapists really cared about our whole little family, we know they're proud of Sable too.

Not pictured: Coordinator Jenny, Teacher Kimberly and OT Caroline. Sable would giggle every time she saw Caroline, who taught Sable how to use an iPad.

Sable with her friends coloring the Happy Birthday poster. It had butterflies on it! Thank you Teacher Amy & Laura!

Play-doh Time.

Sable with her Physical Therapist Amy. They've been friends for over 1-1/2 years.

Sable (not sure she liked seeing the camera while eating her snack) with her Speech Therapist Becca. Sable often referred to Becca as "Butterfly" because she had Butterfly pictures for Sable to hold during sessions.

Joel made 2 layer Jello fruit cups with whip cream on top as a treat for Sables class. It was a big hit! We wanted to make something creative, kid friendly and easy. They were yummy too!

"Sable sleeps with the fish" and other fun things

Uncle Jonathan bought Sable a stuffed fish that she has been sleeping with since her Aquarium trip. It's very cute.

Grandma Dawn got her some butterfly window stickers that Sable has been pointing at and rearranging on the living room window. Today I actually said, "Sable, no eating the butterflies."

I had my last prenatal doctors appointment this afternoon. When I left, my Doctor said, "I'll see you on Monday." (that's when I'm having the baby ~weird~)

Gifts for Summer

Sable's grandparents have prepared her for some summer fun! Grandma Dawn got her some fashionable swimsuits and a cover up, Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Keith got her summer swimming lessons and Papa John gave her a Radio Flyer tricycle (pictured below). Sounds like fun to me!

Seattle Aquarium Birthday Party

Sable had an early birthday party at the Seattle Aquarium this afternoon. We kept it simple, cupcakes, kids goody bags and lots of fish. There was a Cafe and coffee for everyone! We invited grandparents, the in-town Aunts and Uncles and some of Sable's friends. There were lots of pictures taken by everyone, I only got a few. Sable was very interested in all the fish, she loved the touch tank and got a lot of attention. She didn't want to leave but was asleep before we made it home.

Full Term

Today I'm 38 weeks which means the baby is done developing. He's just hanging out and gaining weight for the next 2 weeks. Now I need to catch up on some sleep, drink lots of water and count down to April 2nd.

I made another baby!!!

Doctors appointment

Today at my Doctors appointment I signed some of my "Authorization" paperwork. We are scheduled for April 2, 2012 @ 2:30pm (...how strange is that?). I've gained 21 pounds and my blood pressure is still perfect. The baby has a healthy heartbeat and the Doctor confirmed that he has dropped. I really love my Doctor, she takes great care of me.

2 weeks from today! That's 14 days. I can start an hourly countdown now!

Three years old!

Locked and loaded

The baby has dropped. I can breath easily again and my heartburn is gone, I'm walking slowly though. Joel looked back at me yesterday and said "Waddle on over here!"
Our hospital bag is packed!

17 days to go!

Walking Boot

She's dealing with all the Doctors appointments really well and even likes her new "shoe". It's so small that it's actually cute! Thank you Children's Hospital for having them in stock! (or else she'd be in a plaster cast!)

"We ate mud"

Joel and Sable headed outside yesterday to enjoy the sunshine. They made it across the street then slipped in the mud. Joel got Sable off to the side so she wouldn't end up being an airbag for her Daddy's fall. She ended up with scrapes and bruises even on her face and her right knee is very swollen. They were covered in mud. We went to the Doctors today to get her leg checked out and x-rayed. No word yet on whether it's fractured or sprained. She's not in pain, she just wont stand on it. Joel feels horrible.

*** UPDATE ***

Sable has a Distal Tibial "Greenstick Fracture" in her ankle. She will be in a walking boot for 3-4 weeks.
*A greenstick, buckle or torus fracture is a fracture in a young, soft bone in which the bone gets eaten away and partially breaks. A person's bones become harder and more brittle with age. Greenstick fractures usually occur most often during infancy and childhood when bones are soft. The name is by analogy with green wood which similarly breaks on the outside when bent.

Posts from The Bump

This is a "Baby naming board" that I'm on a lot. Someone posted about the name Clifton and these are some of the responses.

NThieme: Strong Boy Names I love...
Weston, Kingston, Hudson, Clifton, Lincoln, Preston

strawberrytree: Honestly, with the exception of Clifton, these don't strike me as strong male names. My favourite from your list is Clifton, with Preston and Lincoln a distant second. I don't like any of the others.

emoxymoose: Love love love Clifton, Weston is second

mj.reilly: Clifton and Hudson are nice. I don't mind Lincoln.

Kerimarie: WOOHOO Clifton! I'm excited to see this on someone else's list! My Clifton is due in 21 days! I also love Lincoln from you list.

Sneek peek at birthday photos

These photos are protected. We'll be mailing them out soon! I love having a cute kid, though she looks WAY to grown up in these. There were so many great pictures that I had a terrible time narrowing it down to just two poses.

This week

Sable on the phone with grandma Dawn.

36 weeks, 1 day pregnant, I'm exhausted!

March 7, 2012

Good times at nine months pregnant...

- I can no longer fit in a restaurant booth.

- Bending over is an event I prepare for.

- I displace a lot of water.

- Trying to shave my legs is fruitless.

- My pants don't fit anymore... or my shirts, shoes, coats, etc.

- Walking the mall feels like an Olympic event.

26 days to go...

Family stuff

Sable: Yesterday Sable woke up and was very stuffed up. She's feeling better today and getting a lot of rest. "Bus" is her new favorite word.

Clifton: Joel and I are finalizing our plans and check lists for Cliff's arrival (28 days left!) I think we have everything we need... I think.

Joel: Joel and my Uncle Glen went and played board games yesterday and had a great time. It's Joel's birthday this week and we're making time for him to geek out.

Keri: I'm getting around much slower. Sleeping and drinking water are my biggest priorities right now. I'm really sick of maternity clothes.

30 days until Clifton's Birthday... wow.
