Sick little Sable

Sable is feeling awful, she looks sick too. She has a cold AND she's teething at the same time. My poor little stuffed up baby. We have a pot of water with cinnamon and peppermint boiling, Vicks vapor rub on her and a special bottle of juice, water, children's vitamins and a teething tablet all mixed together. We're tucked in on the couch watching "Clifford, The Big Red Dog". She's been sick for a day or two. I hope it goes away soon. Sounds like a lot of people are sick right now.

Name meanings

Your first name of Sable has given you a responsible, expressive, inspirational, and friendly personality.

Expression comes naturally to you and you are rarely at a loss for words; in fact, you have to put forth effort at times to curb an over-active tongue.

Self-confidence has made it easy for you to meet people and you are well-liked for your spontaneous, happy ways.

You sincerely like people and do not often experience loneliness; your work and home-life are likely filled with association
Although the name Sable creates the urge to be reliable and responsible, we emphasize that it frustrates you through a scattered and emotional nature.

Sable Loves...

Just in case you needed any gift ideas, Sable loves Madagascar (We don't own it), The Pink Panther (We don't own it) and The Muppet show (We own Season 1 so far).

NO!

Today we saw Sable, for the first time, shake her head "no" in answer to a question. It was pretty cute.

Good News!

In January, I'm starting a job at Chatter Creek Winery. It's 1-2 days per month with a small staff and incredible wine! I'm so excited! I still need to find a full time job for some income but I'm VERY happy to be at this winery!

Miss Sable

The Urban Dictionary

SABLE = Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy.
Refers to the tendency of knitters to acquire more yarn than they could possibly knit during this lifetime.
I have achieved SABLE and must now amend my will to make sure my yarn has a good home after I die.

Nap time

... I guess she's not in the mood for a nap right now

I love seeing her do new things! Look at her trying to escape!

Milestones & Minions

Milestones
She's cruising more confidently, even over rough terrain like throw pillows and can now go from standing to sitting. She's also pulling up to stand on a verity of things.

Go Sable Go!

Sable can Climb!
Today, Sable went from sitting on the floor to sitting on the sofa, all by herself. Joel saw her pulling on the sofa to stand up but didn't see her climb on top (he was in the kitchen making their lunch). These milestones are starting to happen fast!

Shhhh...!

So sweet!

What's up

We saw Harry Potter Part 1 last night. It was Awesome! Thank you to Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Keith for babysitting. Keith also helped Joey fix our cars headlights this morning (Double Thanks Keith!).
We have half our Christmas shopping done (all of the kids!) and Joey set up the Christmas tree though the lights gave him some grief.
I've lost a few pounds thanks to my seasonal job at Macy's...just in time for sweater season!

Can you believe it's December? 2010 is almost over!

Mall Santa - No waiting

Dear Santa,
Thank you for your patience and happy smile.
Sincerely,
That screaming child's mother.

*Sigh*
Bad pictures happen to everyone, though her hair looks great!
Joel pointed out that "she hates pumpkins and Santa." I bet the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are getting nervous.

Double Woot!

Sable is Cruising!

Joel saw Sable pull herself up to stand by the couch and get excited. After playing for a few minutes, she took one side step, then a couple more and ended up (very happy) at daddy's knee. It took about 20 minutes but she did it all by herself; No prompting, bracing or helping. Joel and I are so proud, relieved, surprised, excited and on the hunt for more baby proofing supplies.

We're at home drinking hot chocolate and watching movies in our PJ's. Warm and safe, waiting for the snowstorm to end.

Woot!

Sable can crawl!

Musings

Sable impressed her Physical Therapist, Amy, today with all her progress. Lately, Sable has been turning her time with Amy into play. Joel and I will be meeting with her Development Coordinator next week to solidify therapy and teaching plans for the next six months. We feel prepared for anything; especially now that all test results point to "normal". There is nothing holding her back! Joel is attending the Dads Group and I am starting the Moms Group this month.

We've had a stressful 2 months and it looks like this is just the start of all the craziness.

Scott Pilgram VS The world was a cool movie.

Assessment

Sable went in for a few more assessments today. Bottom line is that she is going to be receiving more services for a variety of delay issues. We still do not have a diagnosis. The staff of people we met with today were very charmed by Sable and optimistic for her progress.

Levi's

Daddy bought Sable a new coat and Jeans. I love that he went on a shopping trip to get her some "get dirty in" clothes! He's very proud of Sable's new Levi's jean jacket.
