Thank you Mom

My mom came over today to help Joel and I catch up on house cleaning and take Sable and I shopping. It's great to have my "to do" list done. Now I just need more sleep and a shower.

Sable has had a few more fussy episodes. We're trying to switch up our routine to better suit her. We'll get there.

2 weeks old

I had a doctors appointment today and I'm healing fast. I gained 12 pounds being pregnant and today I was 22 pounds lighter... weird. Joel deserves a lot of credit for taking care of me. Sable has become pretty predictable and easy to read. We can figure out when she's hungry, wet, poopy (or pooping), stressed, overstimulated or having acid reflux. We love when she's awake and calm, she just looks around making sweet baby noises. Easy kid to like.

Joel is back at work and doing game night with the Hill brothers again. I'm glad the schedule we worked out is going well. We're both a bit sleepy but we're not stressed.

12 days old

Sable is now 12 days old and has mostly been an easy baby. We had one LATE night at Children's Hospital for some irritating baby acid reflux and when the drama was over, the three of us watched the sunrise on the way home from the ER. It was the first time Joel and I had pulled an all nighter together. There have been one or two other fussy moments but overall she's a calm little girl. We are working great as a team, though I'm a little nervous to be on my own when Joel goes back to work this week.

I have a bit of a sore throat this week and general aches and pains from the birth but I'm feeling great and healing fast. Joel has been great about letting me sleep in and the naps have made a big difference.

The umbilical cord fell off this morning.

Gramma Jackie and Sable

Gramma Jackie was finally over her fever and came over to hold Sable for the first time. Gramma snapped some great pictures!

1+1=3

So far Sable sleeps for 3-4 hours, needs to be changed when she wakes up, then she gets fussy waiting to eat and falls asleep after 3 oz of warm baby food. She kicks when the diaper is wet/dirty. This seems pretty calm. I was expecting more stress and screaming. I don't mind waking up with her for the 3am feeding either, I feel lucky to have her here. She is just so sweet and patient with me and Joel. We are very lucky.

I also think our home feels more romantic. Being at home with Joel and the baby feels like a fairy tale so far. Sable is our synergy.

Holiday Rose Anderson is here!!!

For those of you waiting to hear about Jen and David, Here's the scoop...

Holiday was born on 4-16-09 at 6:32pm by C-section after a LONG labor.
8 pounds, 4.5 oz, 19" long, 13" head

She has a full head of dark wavy hair (it's impressive), cries when she's wet and settles down quickly afterwards.

David and Jen look understandably tired and happy. Everyone is completely healthy. David is holding up great while taking care of both his ladies. They expect to be home on Sunday.

Holly looks like Jens sister Kelly and has Davids face shape and cheeks. She's perfect and beautiful!

Congratulations to the new parents!

Sable is home!

Sable is home and right now she's sleeping in her own crib, wrapped in Gramma Jackies handmade blanket! It feels great to have her home.

Sable a.k.a. Mount Vesuvius

Today I was baptised a mother. I've never seen such a milk explosion in my life, and most of it hit the only shirt I brought with me to the hospital today. The first of many, I'm sure.

News on Jen!

Jen started having contractions last night around 9:00. She and David went to the hospital at 2:00am. No baby yet. Everyone think happy, healthy thoughts for little Holiday and her parents. Today is a beautiful day to have a baby!

Due date!

-*insert long, impatient sigh here*-

I have a doctors appointment at 3:00.

April 7, 2009

Tomorrow is the due date

As of Wednesday, April 8th, I'm at 40 weeks. I'll have her soon right? A few new things have started happening; My back is feeling a little stiff, I'm getting lots of muscle aches in my shoulders and there is a headache trying to start above my left ear. I'm not attributing these things to the baby yet, maybe I need to drink more water or I'm getting stressed waiting. Sable has been more active the past two days and thats great because she's had many "lazy" days... I'm sure it's snug in there right now.
Joel has been a trooper!

April 5, 2009

3 days left

... now I'm just frustrated

April 4, 2009

4-4-09

4 days until due date. Still no sign of Sable Rene', she's just to cozy I guess. Everyones bags are packed; Ours have been packed for 3 weeks now. I slept almost 6 hours last night! I'm planning to be lazy all weekend, movies, naps with the pugs, and order dinner in. Nice and calm.

April 2, 2009

April Baby for sure!

Here is what my mothers ring would look like... Kinda pretty, no?

April 1, 2009

Dr. appointment

Update... I've gained 3 pounds this week (I've been REALLY hungry), I'm a little less than 2cm dialated and the induction date has been pushed back from April 12th to the 15th due to scheduling. I could go into labor at any minute, or have her 2 weeks from now. Only Sable knows...

Cute...

Beverly inspected and approved

39 weeks and still pregnant

Happy April fool day. I hope if I go into labor today, people believe me. I have a doctors appointment later this afternoon. Seven days till due date.
