playful girl

This week...

Sables Hand at 13 Months old

anyone sleep last night?

We didn't sleep much. I woke Joel up at 2am to help with Sable, I haven't had to do that for a long time. She's teething and it hurts. Joel took care of sable and let me get some sleep. He's probably exhausted today.
We are heading to Spokane for the weekend to see Papa John, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Billy, Uncle Jevon and Aunt Sarah. We're pretty excited about going, Sable is a great little traveling companion. The pugs are coming too.

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone!

More teeth

The top 2 teeth are starting to poke through. I can see the corners. That makes 4 so far, she still has a long way to go...
Poor little thing.

so sweet

Sable is softly snoring...

Developmentally Delayed

Sable has been diagnosed as Developmentally Delayed. This is not the same as Developmentally Disabled. Developmentally Delayed means she is late on some of her milestones (physical). All babies develop at different rates and Sable for whatever reason is behind. Things that can make a child develop slower are: parents going through Postpartum, Child being held to much, left handedness, future learning disabilities, early onset of seizure disorder, or just because... there's a long list.
*** Being Developmentally Delayed is fixable. It is not a long term issue.*** We are doing physical therapy to catch up. As soon as she is caught up, she will no longer be Developmentally Delayed. We noticed the issue early and in Sables case, she will be fine. She is an enthusiastic learner and with each physical therapy session she improves greatly.
I decided to post this because I had a friend mention their grandchild was missing milestones and starting physical therapy, they were so worried. I told her how common and temporary the issue was. I'm very proud of my beautiful little girl. This is her first hurdle in life and Joel and I are helping her to fly over it.

Yes, SHE can!

Sable can pull her self up to stand... She just wont do it with out our insisting. If you put your finger in front of her and say "stand up!" she reaches out, grabs your finger and pops her cute self up with NO help. We've been having some development issues with her and this just shows that she can do things, she just doesn't care to. How eccentric of her; I think it just adds to her loveliness. She sits back down with no problem either, plop!

Bonjour Sable, Comment vas-tu?

Sable had her first French class today! There was a lot of singing and music (that was her favorite part) and a lot of other kids and moms (My favorite part). We learned about Zoo animals (animaux) today. She studied everyone and played with the animal finger puppets. I can't wait until next week!

bisous bisous (kiss kiss)

Music Level 1

Sable went to a music class yesterday and LOVED it! The first half of the class she sat on my lap with her fingers in her mouth watching everyone. During the second half she was laughing, shaking bells and hitting the big drum in the center of the room. She was totally into the upbeat 80's music, especially Flock of Seagulls.

Good News, Bad News

The good news is: she got up on her knees to crawl!
The bad news is: she crawled off the couch, head first.

She cried for about a minute and there's no bruise. A few minutes later she was giggling and happy. It was sure a surprise to see her move that fast though!
