Joel Hills: In swimming class today, I dunked Sable under water for the first time. She didn’t cry, she just looked at me the same way Keri does after I’ve just done something stupid.

Genes are strange things
I laid Sable in her crib and covered her up with a light weight, pink blanket and handed her a doll to snuggle. She giggled stretched out and quietly fell asleep. I left the lamp on so I could check on her. Ten minutes later I walk into the room to see her turned away from the light with her pillow pulled around her head. I switched off the lamp, thinking she was being overly dramatic. Sable let go of the pillow and stretched out in her bed again. Joel needs every light to be off when he sleeps. It's odd what things are genetic.

Sable and I have caught Joel's "Geek" flu (fever that swept through Gencon). We are medicated, sitting in front of the AC, coughing.

This weather isn't helping either...90+

16 months old!

It was so difficult to choose photos, they're all adorable!

fyi, the place where Sable gets her pictures taken have photos of kids on the walls and shelves. They had TWO pictures of Sable up!

Cooking for two

Joel has been out of town this week at Gencon, so Sable and I have had lots of bonding time. I have found a new lovely part of her personality too, she loves to eat my cooking! Joel and I share the responsibility of cooking usually and every time I try something different it gets critiqued by Joel... a lot. Sable will cautiously try a little nibble then happily suck down all the food on her tray. Cooking for her is really fun and watching her enjoy food is amazing!

2 years!

I just noticed this but Sable's blog turned 2 years old this week! That's kind of cool!

Swimming with Grandpa Keith

Two milestones in two days!

#1 Yesterday during lunch, Sable took her spoon, dipped it into her strawberry yogurt, looked at it and ate it! It was so perfect and I got excited. All of her past milestones have been very late and huge struggles to achieve. This one was on time and very easy for her. It was such a relief.

#2 Today during Physical Therapy, Sable scooted on her bottom to get the remote control. It's great to see her start moving from point "A" to point "B". She's getting stronger and more confident every day.

I'm so proud!
